According to police, Muskan was alone on the second floor of her home when Imran allegedly arrived. The two reportedly got into an argument, following which Imran allegedly attacked her with a knife, causing multiple injuries. He then allegedly fled from the scene.

The incident came to light after Muskan was found seriously injured and lying in a pool of blood. According to the information available, neighbours rushed to the residence after hearing her screams. Other accounts said a domestic worker discovered her in the house and raised the alarm.

She was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment but later died from her injuries. Following the incident, Delhi Police launched an extensive search for the accused and formed multiple teams to trace him. Investigators also began examining CCTV footage from the neighbourhood to establish the sequence of events and track the suspect’s movements after the alleged attack.

Police subsequently located Imran in Rajouri Garden on Thursday evening. Police said an alleged encounter occurred during his apprehension and that Imran sustained gunshot injuries to both legs. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Investigators are now examining the circumstances that led to the confrontation and trying to establish the exact motive behind the alleged killing.

According to preliminary information from the investigation, Imran had reportedly been upset for nearly two months over Muskan speaking to another man. Police also said that Muskan and Imran had known each other for approximately one-and-a-half years.

A friend of Muskan, identified as Aman, told reporters that she was the youngest of three sisters. He said her elder sister, who was in Chandigarh, contacted him after learning that Muskan had been stabbed and asked him to go to the residence.

Aman said he immediately contacted another friend and asked him to reach the house and arrange medical assistance. By the time Aman arrived, an ambulance had already taken Muskan to hospital.

He further claimed that Muskan’s sisters had previously told him that Imran allegedly used to harass her.

“He had done it a long time ago as well,” Aman reportedly said, adding that the earlier allegations contributed to suspicion falling on Imran after the latest incident.

Muskan was a second-year student at Delhi University and was also pursuing modelling. Her death has sent shockwaves through the locality and prompted questions about her relationship with the accused and whether there had been previous incidents of harassment or conflict.

The police investigation is continuing. Officers are examining CCTV footage, statements from people who knew Muskan and Imran, and other available evidence to determine what happened before and after the alleged stabbing.

precise motive behind the killing has not yet been conclusively established. Allegations against Imran will be subject to the ongoing investigation and subsequent judicial proceedings.
