According to information available so far, Amrita was preparing food at home when Panchu allegedly arrived there and attacked her without warning.

According to local sources, Amrita was working in the kitchen when her brother-in-law allegedly attacked her with an axe. The assault reportedly left her critically injured. She raised an alarm, following which family members and neighbours rushed towards the house.
Amrita was found in a blood-soaked condition and was taken to a hospital for treatment. However, doctors examined her and declared her dead.
The incident triggered considerable tension in the locality. Police began investigating why Panchu allegedly attacked his sister-in-law and whether there had been any dispute between the two.
The investigation subsequently brought an alleged extramarital relationship into focus. Police are examining whether a personal dispute involving such a relationship could have led to the fatal attack.
Family members said Amrita was the mother of two children. Her husband, Nandalal Oraon, was reportedly away from the house when the incident occurred. The two children were playing elsewhere in the house at the time of the alleged attack.

After receiving information about the alleged killing, police launched a search for Panchu. He was reportedly traced and taken to the police station shortly afterwards. He was subsequently arrested.
Investigators are reportedly considering the possibility that Panchu and Amrita had been involved in an alleged extramarital relationship. Police suspect that Amrita may have started avoiding Panchu in recent days, leading to tension between them.
