Voter List Update has been implemented as the Election Commission released a booth-wise supplementary list based on cases resolved by tribunals. The Commission stated that voters whose cases have been decided can now check their status on the official website. This move comes in compliance with the Supreme Court’s directive ahead of the first phase of polling.

Ahead of the first phase of elections on April 23, names of those voters whose applications were accepted till April 21 will be included in the final electoral roll. During the Voter List Update process, both ‘addition’ and ‘deletion’ lists finalized by tribunals have been published. However, the complete detailed list will be made available by Wednesday evening.
According to State Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Agarwal, all names cleared by the tribunal are being incorporated into the voter list. Information about booths where cases are still pending is also available on the website. Voters can now easily verify whether their names have been included using their EPIC number.
The Supreme Court, exercising its powers under Article 142 of the Constitution, directed that all cases resolved by April 21 must be reflected in the voter list before the first phase of polling, provided the names were not rejected. Such voters will be eligible to cast their votes.

Before the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the total number of voters in the 152 विधानसभा constituencies scheduled for the first phase was 39.81 million. Among them, 3.65 million voters were under consideration. After the disposal of cases, the updated voter count stands at 36.07 million. Those whose names were not included have approached the tribunal for further review.
