Iran Attack: A War That Threatens Humanity
Iran Attack has drawn strong condemnation from noted human rights activist Shamim Ahmed, National President and International Convenor of the Human Rights Protection Association (HRPA). Expressing deep concern over the ongoing attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel and the escalating war situation, he stated that war is never a solution to any conflict. Instead, it is a grave violation of human rights, global peace, and human dignity.
Shamim Ahmed said that the Iran Attack has already caused devastating consequences for innocent civilians. He strongly condemned the targeting of a girls’ school in Iran, describing it as a horrific and inhumane act.
School Attack on Girls: A Tragedy That Shocks Humanity
In his statement, Shamim Ahmed highlighted that during the Iran Attack, a girls’ school was deliberately targeted, resulting in the death of more than 165 innocent schoolgirls. He described the incident as a dark stain on the conscience of the modern and so-called developed world.
He said that targeting children, women, and educational institutions in war is a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and fundamental human values. Attacking schools is essentially an attack on the future of a society, because children receiving education represent hope and progress for any nation.
War’s Greatest Victims: Ordinary People
Shamim Ahmed emphasized that the biggest victims of war are always ordinary civilians. Bombings and missile strikes have claimed thousands of innocent lives, while millions are forced to live in fear, displacement, and uncertainty. Hospitals, schools, homes, and essential infrastructure are destroyed during wars, creating long-term humanitarian crises that affect generations.
From a human rights perspective, he said, war violates the most basic principles of life, liberty, security, and dignity. Children lose access to education, women face increased insecurity, and societies fall into fear and instability. Shortages of food, water, medicines, and basic services further deepen the humanitarian disaster.
Oil and Arms Politics Behind Modern Wars
Shamim Ahmed also pointed out that many modern conflicts are closely connected to the global trade in weapons and the politics of oil. When arms-producing countries increase their weapons production, tensions and conflicts are often fueled in different parts of the world to sell or utilize those weapons.
According to him, war often becomes a means to sustain the global arms market at the cost of human lives. In such situations, humanity pays the price while powerful interests benefit from prolonged conflict.
Shamim Ahmed’s Work in Human Rights Advocacy
Shamim Ahmed has been actively working for many years to protect human rights and raise his voice for marginalized communities. Through the platform of HRPA, he has led campaigns against human rights violations and worked to secure justice for victims.
Under his leadership, the organization has consistently promoted the principles of human dignity, equality, and justice at national and international forums, advocating for peace and the protection of fundamental human rights.
Call for Immediate Global Action
He urged the international community, the United Nations, and global human rights organizations to take immediate and effective steps to stop the ongoing war and strongly condemn attacks that claim the lives of innocent civilians, especially children.
In conclusion, Shamim Ahmed stated that if the world truly considers itself civilized and progressive, it cannot remain silent in the face of such atrocities. Humanity must unite to oppose aggression and promote peace, justice, and respect for human rights.
