Operation Sindoor Sets the Tone for I-Day at Red Fort

Operation Sindoor is the defining spirit of India’s 79th Independence Day celebrations, transforming the Red Fort complex into a vibrant tribute to the armed forces. Launched 100 days ago, this decisive military campaign targeted and destroyed multiple terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, avenging the April 22 Pahalgam attack.

The Ministry of Defence has placed Operation Sindoor front and center, from official invitation cards to stage décor, ensuring its legacy is woven into the day’s patriotic narrative. Guests attending the event receive invitations—both digital and printed—featuring the operation’s emblem alongside a silhouetted image of the iconic Chenab Bridge, symbolising the rise of ‘Naya Bharat’.

Patriotic Art, Logos, and National Pride

The Red Fort venue is adorned with Operation Sindoor-themed artworks, colorful posters, and symbolic installations. View cutters along Gyanpath display the logo and silhouettes of armed forces personnel, underscoring their role as protectors of the nation. The logo itself, designed by Lt Col Harsh Gupta and Havildar Surinder Singh, features vermilion (sindoor) creatively integrated into its typography, blending cultural identity with military pride.

The Chenab Bridge—an engineering marvel inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June—appears prominently on invitations. Modi had lauded the bridge as surpassing the Eiffel Tower in height, calling it both a testament to India’s ambition and a future tourism magnet.

Nation’s Celebration Beyond the Red Fort

This year’s theme, “Naya Bharat,” resonates throughout the program. More than 2,500 NCC cadets and ‘My Bharat’ volunteers are positioned on Gyanpath to form the ‘Naya Bharat’ logo, visually reinforcing the government’s vision for a developed India by 2047.

Following the main event, military and paramilitary bands—including those from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, CRPF, ITBP, CISF, SSB, BSF, IDS, RPF, and Assam Rifles—will perform at over 140 locations nationwide to “celebrate the victory of Operation Sindoor” through music and ceremonial precision.

Special Guests Representing the Spirit of the Nation

Around 5,000 special invitees from diverse backgrounds will witness the celebrations. These include the Indian contingent for the Special Olympics 2025, winners of international sporting events, Khelo India Para Games gold medalists, high-performing farmers, beekeepers under the National Beekeeping and Honey Mission, and outstanding school students. Also invited are sanitation workers, beneficiaries of the Lakhpati Didi initiative, Anganwadi workers, and child development officers—representatives of grassroots service to the nation.

Operation Sindoor’s success has become more than a military victory—it’s now a unifying symbol of resilience, ambition, and the emergence of a confident ‘Naya Bharat’. This Independence Day, it stands not just as a chapter in defence history but as a milestone in India’s evolving national identity.
