Satna Rape Case investigations are underway in Madhya Pradesh after a woman accused the husband of a BJP councillor of raping her at knifepoint, secretly recording the assault, and using the footage to threaten and silence her for nearly six months.
According to the complaint, the accused, Ashok Singh—husband of a Bharatiya Janata Party councillor in a local Nagar Parishad—allegedly forced his way into the woman’s home around six months ago, committed sexual assault, and recorded the act on his mobile phone. In the Satna Rape Case, the survivor has claimed that Singh repeatedly threatened to kill her and her family if she spoke about the incident, using fear and blackmail to control her.

The woman further told police that the accused continued to harass her over the following months, frequently visiting her shop, abusing her verbally, and intimidating her. She alleged that on December 20, Singh again confronted her, sexually harassed her, and warned that the video would be made public if she did not comply with his demands.
Meanwhile, police are examining a video circulating on social media that allegedly shows the accused mocking the idea of any legal action against him. In the clip, he is purportedly heard saying that no action would be taken against him regardless of where a complaint was filed. Authorities have confirmed that the footage is being verified as part of the investigation.
Satna Superintendent of Police Hansraj Singh stated that the case has been handed over to Deputy Superintendent of Police Manoj Trivedi. “All available evidence, including the viral video, is under examination. Further action will be taken based on the findings,” he said.
The complainant has also alleged police inaction, claiming she first approached local authorities five days before escalating the matter to senior officers due to a lack of immediate response.
Responding to the allegations, BJP spokesperson Shivam Shukla said the party has no association with the accused. “The individual does not belong to the BJP. If any crime has been committed, the law will take its course,” he said.
Police officials have said further steps will be taken after the preliminary investigation is completed.
