India’s Unified Voice Against Terrorism Praised by PM Modi

By Qalam Times News Network

New Delhi, June 11:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday commended the efforts of recent multi-party delegations that visited over 30 countries to present India’s firm stance against terrorism. These delegations were dispatched in the wake of the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor to reinforce India’s global narrative and commitment to peace.

The delegations, comprising over 50 individuals—including current and former parliamentarians and diplomats—were tasked with three core objectives: articulating India’s position on terrorism, emphasizing national unity, and reaffirming India’s dedication to global peace and security.

In a post on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi wrote, “Met with the members of the delegations who represented India abroad and elaborated on our unwavering commitment to peace and the urgent need to counter terrorism. We take pride in how effectively they voiced India’s concerns on the world stage.”

These teams collectively visited 33 capitals and the European Union, engaging with foreign counterparts to communicate the gravity of state-sponsored terrorism—particularly emanating from Pakistan—and to solicit broader global cooperation against it.

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar had earlier praised the delegations, acknowledging their role in amplifying India’s resolute approach to terrorism and presenting a unified national front.

Notably, the initiative included bipartisan representation. Of the seven delegations, four were led by MPs from the ruling alliance—including two from the BJP, one from JD(U), and one from Shiv Sena—while three were led by opposition MPs from the Congress, DMK, and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction).

Prominent figures at the helm of these delegations included BJP leaders Ravi Shankar Prasad and Baijayant Panda; Congress MP Shashi Tharoor; JD(U)’s Sanjay Jha; Shiv Sena’s Dr. Shrikant Shinde; DMK’s Kanimozhi; and NCP’s Supriya Sule.

The delegations also featured senior former parliamentarians such as Ghulam Nabi Azad and Salman Khurshid. Among the notable instances of cross-party collaboration was the participation of AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, who joined ranks with members of the ruling alliance to advocate India’s position abroad.

Dr. Shrikant Shinde, who led one of the delegations, posted on X, “We briefed the Prime Minister on the overwhelming support extended by friendly nations towards India’s determined stand against terrorism and our enduring commitment to global peace.”

He added that Prime Minister Modi appreciated the delegation’s work and offered motivational insights to further strengthen India’s voice internationally. “His words have deeply inspired us to work even harder for the nation,” Shinde noted.

These missions served to clarify India’s post-Pahalgam policy, emphasizing a zero-tolerance approach toward cross-border terrorism and reiterating its call for a unified international response.

During their visits, the delegations met with lawmakers, diplomats, and policymakers in various countries. They presented detailed briefings on the threat posed by terrorism in all its forms and sought collaborative efforts to confront this global menace. India’s position received significant support, with many nations expressing solidarity and stressing the need for strengthened global counterterrorism partnerships.

According to official sources, these diplomatic engagements have not only bolstered India’s international standing but also showcased the country’s unified political will. The inclusive nature of the delegations underlined India’s internal consensus on combating terrorism and its sincere pursuit of peace.

Prime Minister Modi, during his meeting with the delegates, reiterated that India’s objective is not only to eliminate terrorism but also to promote global cooperation and harmony. He encouraged them to continue voicing India’s perspective strongly on the international stage.

Observers believe the success of these delegations has significantly reinforced India’s diplomatic strategy, projecting the country as both unified and committed to being a constructive force in global peace building.
