Encounter in Kulgam: One terrorist killed, 3 soldiers including an army officer injured

Encounter in Kulgam: One terrorist was killed while three army personnel were injured in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday morning. According to officials, an army Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) is also among the injured, whose condition is said to be critical. The identity of the injured soldiers and officers has not been revealed yet.

Encounter in Kulgam:How it started?

According to the information, the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF conducted a joint search operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the Gudar forest area. During this, the security forces saw suspicious activity and challenged, after which the terrorists started firing. One terrorist was killed and three army personnel were injured in the intense firing from both sides. The Army’s Chinar Corps said in a statement that the operation is still going on.

A big encounter also took place last month

This encounter in Kulgam is the second major action in Kulgam in the last five weeks. Earlier, the operation against terrorists in Akhal forest area lasted for 11 days, in which two soldiers were martyred and 10 others were injured.

Two terrorists were also killed in Gurez sector

A few days ago two terrorists were killed in Gurez sector of Jammu and Kashmir. One of them was identified as Bagu Khan alias ‘Human GPS’. He had been involved in infiltration more than 100 times since 1995 and was called ‘Human GPS’ due to his detailed knowledge of all the routes. Bagu Khan was a resident of Pakistan and was associated with Hizbul Mujahideen. He was also known as ‘Samundar Chacha’. A Pakistani identity card was also recovered from him. The other terrorist killed with him was also Pakistani, although his identity has not been ascertained yet.
