Devotees Celebrate Maa Kalratri Puja with Fervor
Devotees thronged temples and puja pandals across Chakia on the eighth day of Sharadiya Navratri, which also coincided with Durga Maha Saptami on Monday. The worship of Maa Kalratri was performed with grandeur, filling the atmosphere with chants of “Jai Mata Di.” As soon as the temple doors opened, the joy and devotion of the crowd was evident.
Pandal Decorations and Village-Level Celebrations
At both village and city levels, entrances to puja sites were decorated with magnificent toran gates, while pandals dazzled with attractive electrical displays. In the evening, these lights bathed the city in a festive glow, creating a spiritual ambiance that drew even more devotees.
Prayers at Temples and Spiritual Centers
Special Vedic rituals and offerings were held at Siddhipith Maa Budhi Devi Temple, Balkhana Devi Temple, Maruti Temple Complex, Durga Temple Complex, and the Station premises. Priests chanted sacred mantras as devotees—both locals and those traveling from distant areas—offered prayers to seek blessings.
Administration Prepared for Law and Order
To ensure smooth conduct of the festivities, the district administration deployed a significant police presence across major sites. Control rooms were set up at several locations, with magistrates personally supervising security arrangements. This allowed devotees to participate in the celebrations peacefully and without concern.
