Bihar Politics Heats Up: Shah Targets Mahagathbandhan Over Leadership Rift, Seat Chaos Deepens Ahead of Polls

Bihar Politics takes a dramatic turn as Amit Shah slams the Mahagathbandhan for lack of leadership and clarity over seat-sharing. Internal rifts in Congress, RJD, and JDU intensify ahead of the Bihar Assembly Elections.

Bihar Politics is witnessing intense turbulence as Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a sharp attack on the Mahagathbandhan, saying the opposition alliance neither has a defined leader nor clarity on seat allocation. “The people of Bihar have moved on from Rahul Gandhi,” Shah remarked, accusing Congress of remaining silent on “vote theft.” He added that the BJP welcomes the Election Commission’s SIR decision and called for its implementation nationwide.

As Bihar Politics moves closer to the first phase of polling on November 6, nomination filing for 121 assembly seats concluded on Friday. Sources confirm Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hold 12 rallies across Bihar before the first phase of voting, beginning with Sasaram, Gaya, and Bhagalpur on October 23.

NDA’s Campaign Momentum:

The NDA appears united, with Amit Shah emphasizing that “there is no internal conflict within the alliance.” PM Modi’s subsequent rallies will cover Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, and Patna on October 28; Chhapra, East Champaran, and Samastipur on November 1; and West Champaran, Saharsa, and Araria on November 3.

In contrast, Bihar Politics within the opposition camp remains messy. The Mahagathbandhan has yet to finalize its seat-sharing formula. The RJD has not released any candidate list, while Congress has announced 48 names and CPIML 18. In multiple constituencies, alliance partners are clashing head-to-head, including five seats where Congress and RJD have fielded rival candidates.

Opposition in Disarray:

Bihar Politics

BJP spokesperson Dr. Ajay Alok said the Mahagathbandhan is “fighting itself before it can face the NDA.” He revealed that opposition parties are competing against each other in 36 constituencies during the first phase, and about 30 more in the next round. “They’ll finish fighting among themselves before they come for us,” he added.

Another BJP leader, Guru Prakash Paswan, condemned the “humiliation of Dalit leaders” within the opposition alliance. He cited incidents involving Congress state chief Rajesh Ram and VIP leader Mukesh Sahni, claiming that Bihar Politics under the Mahagathbandhan has turned “feudal and discriminatory.”

Internal Shake-Ups and Ticket Dramas:

The turmoil in Bihar Politics doesn’t stop there. The JD(U) withdrew the ticket of its Amour candidate Saba Zafar amid allegations of internal betrayal, replacing her with former Rajya Sabha MP Sabir Ali. Meanwhile, VIP’s national vice president Badri Purve resigned, accusing his party of “betrayal” after losing his Darbhanga ticket to the party chief’s brother.

Adding to the chaos, JDU legislator Gopal Mandal broke down in tears after being denied a ticket, filing his nomination as an independent candidate. “I have always stood by Nitish Kumar,” he said emotionally, appealing to voters to give him another chance.

Congress Rift Grows Deeper:

The crisis in the Congress camp has widened further. Several disgruntled leaders held a press conference in Patna on Saturday, alleging corruption and ticket-selling by party officials. Sitting MLAs like Chhatrapati Yadav and Gajanand Shahi claimed the Mahagathbandhan was “on the verge of collapse” due to poor leadership decisions.

As Bihar Politics intensifies, both alliances face critical challenges—while the NDA projects unity and confidence, the Mahagathbandhan struggles to present a coherent front. With barely 20 days left for the first phase, the stage is set for a fierce political showdown in Bihar.
