Committee for 2025–2029 Declared
The committee of the West Bengal Amateur Body Builders’ Association—the oldest bodybuilding body in the state, established in 1933—has officially been announced for the term 2025 to 2029. The decision was made during a meeting held on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
President and Vice-Presidents
Mohammad Azizul Haque will continue as President, while Nazrul Islam joins him in the leadership role. The association’s vice-presidential panel includes Jahar Das, Santosh Kumar Kultia, Partha Protim Banerjee, Sanjay Singh, Subhankar Deb, and Prasit Bhattacharya.
Core Office Bearers
The post of General Secretary remains with Sk. Noor, and Indranath Ganguly will continue as Treasurer. Shahzada Firoz has been appointed as Assistant Treasurer. The Assistant Secretaries are Sankar Basak, Robi Sankar Dey, Tufan Bhattacharya, and Ratan Saha.
Organizational Structure
The position of Organizing Secretary will be held by Samir Halder, Dipak Ghosh, Sumit Das, Manoj Rajak, and Pradip Ghatak. Members of the committee include Probir Paul, Dipak Kumar Ghosh, and Ram Krishna Basak.
Legacy and Recognition
The West Bengal Amateur Body Builders’ Association is recognized by the West Bengal State Council of Sports and is affiliated with both the Bengal Olympic Association and the Amateur Body Builders’ & Physique Sports Federation India (ABPF). Founded in 1933, the association continues to play a pivotal role in promoting bodybuilding and physique sports across the state.
