Appointment of Dr. Noor-us-Sabah Ismail Nadvi to the West Bengal Madrasah Service Commission marks a renewed trust in his educational leadership. This second term, under the 2008 Act, strengthens the state’s academic framework.
Appointment of Dr. Noor-us-Sabah Ismail Nadvi has once again reaffirmed his standing in West Bengal’s educational landscape. In a fresh government notification issued on August 4, 2025, under Section 5 of the West Bengal Madrasah Service Commission Act, 2008, the state government officially reappointed Dr. Nadvi as a member of the Commission. The announcement was published in the Kolkata Gazette (Extraordinary Edition).
The appointment was part of a broader reshuffle, involving the nomination of four individuals to the Commission. The newly appointed members include:
- Dr. Noor-us-Sabah Ismail Nadvi, Kolkata
- Asadullah Mondal, North 24 Parganas
- Dr. Zakir Hussain Laskar, Associate Professor, Aliah University
- Dr. Sayyidah Shariqatul Mola Qadri, Acting Principal, Government Girls’ General Degree College, Kolkata.
Notably, Dr. Nadvi, along with Asadullah Mondal and Dr. Zakir Hussain, had served on the Commission during previous terms. The inclusion of Dr. Sayyidah Shariqatul Mola Qadri marks her first tenure with the body, adding a new academic voice to the panel.


Dr. Noor-us-Sabah Ismail Nadvi, a respected educationist and current head of Jibreel International School in Kolkata, is widely known for his active engagement in academic reforms and educational initiatives in the state. His appointment to a second term is being seen by many in the academic community as a positive affirmation of his commitment and leadership.
